Aerial Fabrics: Silks or Sling

What are Aerial Fabrics?

Fabrics are two different types of aerial apparatus generally categorized as Silks or Sling. Silks appear as two pieces of fabric. Sling (Hammock) is generally a single, looped piece of fabric. Fabrics are always eye-catching and dynamic!

Silks All Levels | Thursdays 6:15pm

In Silks All Levels, we practice climbs, conditioning, foot locks, and work our way into pretty combos! Come have fun in this class that begins to mix it up as you start feeling more comfortable in the fabric! There is something for everyone, whether you're a first-timer or a pro!

Requirements: None

Sling Level 1 | Fridays 5:45pm

We use the same material as Silks but in a loop instead of two separate pieces, so sometimes this make it more accessible for beginners.  We will become acquainted with entering and sitting in the fabric, introducing inversions from the floor, and seeing if we can piece together moves we learn to "dance" in the fabric. Sling is very beginner friendly!

Requirements: None

Sling Level 2 | Sundays 11:00am

Sling Level 2 continues our progress from Level 1. We will start sequencing moves together, working on aerial inversions, add in drops, and begin working on beats and more!

Requirements: Tuck inversion, Gizelle, Aviator, Pullover to Front balance, Hip Key, Single Leg Rollup.

Attire

We recommend a tee-shirt and tights or leggings of at least capri length which allow for movement but also back of knee protection.  As the silks can tear, please do not wear things that would snag them. Avoid clothing with lots of zippers or buttons, and please remove rings and jewelry.
